Newport National Club Champions for 2019

Congratulations to our 2019 Club Champions!

Newport National has crowned their 2019 Club Champions. The Club has three division champions: Net Division, Ladies Division and the Championship Division, which carries the title of “The Club Champion” for men. Matches were played throughout a two-week period with the finals held for all divisions on Sunday, August 18th.

The Net Division final players were Phil Altman & Dave Carrington. Their match was up and down, but in the end, Phil Altman pulled out the win to take home this year’s trophy for Net Division Champion.

In the Ladies Division, the women compete in a stroke play competition. Kris Kennedy saved her best round of golf, in a few years, and posted an 84 to claim her sixth Club Championship at Newport National. MaryAnne Miller Allan gave Kris Kennedy a fight but fell just short in the end

The Championship Division is a 36-hole match, which started out with foggy conditions. The match was played by Rob Forrest & Andrew Logan. The match ended early with Andrew closing Rob out needing only 27 holes to defend his title. Andrew Logan took home his second straight Club Championship.
