Dan has over 30 years of management experience to his credit and ha been a member of the Club Manager’s Association of America for decades.
Dan brings multiple levels and years of experience in managing people, developing process and overseeing club properties. Dan has dedicated his life to the club industry, and brings esteemed tenure and professionalism to aid our members & guests each and every day.
Dan and his wife, Margaret, call Newport their home and he is excited to use his expertise in developing our operational and financial future. He looks forward to meeting our membership as well as welcoming the many guests that visit Newport National Golf Club.

Christopher Hulme joined Newport National Golf Club as our Head PGA Golf Professional in 2019. Mr. Hulme has been a PGA Pro since 1998. We are delighted to have him on our team as he works to make your golf experience memorable.
Christopher possesses a wealth of knowledge and passion for: golf instruction, club fitting, course operations, personnel management and tournament play.
He has been recognized as the Rhode Island PGA Assistant of the Year, NEPGA Merchandiser of the Year and has served on two NEPGA committees: the Ouimet Scholarship Fund and the Junior Golf Committee.
An accomplished golfer, Mr. Hulme was a U.S. Amateur National Qualifier, earned two top ten finishes at the NEPGA Section Championships and captained his collegiate golf team.
Away from the club, Christopher has been an active member of the community, having coached junior golfers and high school athletes alike. He has also participated in rehabilitative golf clinics focused on improving the quality of life for those who served our country with honor.
Christopher looks forward to sharing his passion for golf and enhancing your time at Newport National Golf Club.
Simon Harootian, Superintendent
Simon Harootian joined Newport National Golf Club as the Superintendent in 2020. Simon began his agronomic career over 20 years ago. Golf course maintenance has been a long passion of Simon’s. His professional expertise provide him with a wide array of experience on both private and public courses, thus allowing him to maintain the turf to superior conditions.
Along with maintaining high turf quality on courses, Simon has partnered with professors at the University of Rhode Island and the top chemical companies to further the progress of the “Green” movement by doing research with biological treatments and cleaner, safer pesticides. Simon’s efforts to maintain the golf course in an environmentally-friendly way has earned NNGC “Green” certificates with the Audobon Society and the Rhode Island DEM.
After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, Simon moved to Middletown with his now wife Susan. He is excited to showcase his talents in the community he loves.

Angela brings over 30 years of hospitality expertise with executive-level leadership in Food and Beverage operations. Her career has been defined by building high-performing teams, elevating service standards, and delivering refined dining and event experiences that reflect the prestige of a premier golf destination.
At Newport National, Angela provides strategic oversight of all Food and Beverage operations, including restaurant service, bar programming, banquet execution, and tournament hospitality. Her leadership spans menu development, vendor partnerships, staffing strategy, and comprehensive service training—ensuring consistency, quality, and an exceptional guest experience at every touchpoint.
With a hands-on, service-driven approach, Angela focuses on operational excellence, team development, and cultivating a culture that enhances the overall club experience for members.
